Ode to Spring Break!

Obviously, the future is so bright...he's got to wear shades :) TheMomOfG is still in the process of sprucing up the house and purchased some lamps that required a bit of processing. Whatever was on young Given's mind at this point...I don't know...but anything that's not an official toy quickly becomes a cool play-thing in our home!! When we were kids, we used to say, "You make a better door than a window." If I were on top of my game, I'd make a witty comment about making a better hall tree than a lamp post....regardless, he's the bright spot in this Mom's life!!

Although you may think you're looking at one of our favorite breakfast hang-outs during Spring Break, noting Given's favorite breakfast food of a Chick-fil-a buttered biscuit, you'd only be half right. What you're also looking at is the Chick-fil-a play area....(back and to the right)...which is the real reason we end up eating buttered breakfast biscuits at this particular restaurant!

Saturdays always seem better when we visit Lakeshore Learning Center. Of course, we go for the crafts, but we also go for the free-play with cool toys! Given knew all about the fishing game below...it's the same game we played at church in Sunday School class a few weeks ago! Given and Brian pose with their fine fish....and note Given's craft...a pot-of-gold treasure bank :)

We also tended to the yard work over the weekend to kick off Spring Break with the chores out of the way. The guys swept the grass and leaves off the front porch...

I thought this picture of Given on his scooter was cool....through the bare bushes!

The main point is that he is growing up...getting big and tall...and he speaks very well for a 3-year-old who looks more like a 6-year-old.
Another favorite spot is the park across the street from our house.
We like to hang out there....well....Given really hangs....

And because he has done such a great job of going to bed at night without fussing or bargaining for extra time to play, read, or talk, Brian treated him to a trip to Chuck E. Cheese's this week. It is the first time I've gone there "on purpose" without attending someone's birthday party. We had fun....as expected.

It's all fun and games....we especially love skee ball.... up close and personal :)
